Seaweed is an excellent beauty ingredient, appreciated by many, due to it being an anti-inflammatory and containing vitamins such as A B, C, and E. The nutrients are wonderful for aiding in maintaining healthy hair and scalp. This is a variation of hair mask I created 2 years ago. I revisited it this week and definitely remember why I loved it so much!

 Softening Seaweed Pre-Wash Detangler

4 heaping tablespoons of spirulina or any extra finely ground seaweed powder

*Spirulina is costly. A regular seaweed of choice is quite fine to use.

1 tablespoon of flourishing scalp nectar

1 tablespoon of raw honey

1/2 a cup of full fat greek yogurt or sour cream
*Use whichever you have. They both yield the same results.

10 drops of peppermint essential oil
*I have added the peppermint essential oil because it gives the scalp a wonderful tingly sensation and aids in masking the oceanic fragrance of the seaweed. 2 for 1 bonus on that.

1/2 a cup of flaxseed gel
*For steps on how to make flaxseed gel click here.

Make the flaxseed gel. Add the seaweed powder, peppermint and yogurt/ sour cream to the bowl of gel. Blend well.

Apply the mask to the hair. Remove any shed hairs and lightly detangle. Twist the hair to keep it from tangling again.

Cover the hair with a disposable shower cap.

Leave the mask on for 15-20 without heat.

Rinse the hair well. Immediately will notice, while rinsing, how soft the hair feels.

Lastly, cleanse and condition your hair. Fini!

This treatment is a wonderful detangler and conditioner.
It increases the hair's softness and overall sheen.

Give it a try and share how well it worked for you.
